PAPAR: A 65-year-old man died in a road accident involving a Proton Iswara that skidded into a drain at Kampung Langsat, Jalan Bukit Manggis, here early Friday morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 5.21am and arrived at the scene at 5.44am, with six personnel from the Papar station deployed alongside the police and Health Ministry.

Three victims were involved, with one man pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel while two others, a 63-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, were taken to Papar Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters extricated the victims and administered initial aid before handing the deceased to police for further action, and the operation was fully concluded at 7.21am after ensuring the area was safe.
