Non-citizen held over fake documents in MyPR application

Kota Kinabalu: A 36-year-old non-citizen was detained by Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) enforcement officers for allegedly submitting false documents in a MyPR application.

The arrest was made at about 10.30am at the department’s Identity Card Division here when the man appeared to apply for MyPR using a suspected fake entry permit on Friday.

The case has been handed over to the Immigration Department Malaysia Kota Kinabalu Branch for further action as it involves the use of an entry permit.

Sabah NRD said it remains committed to ensuring all identity document applications comply with existing laws and will not compromise on any attempt to falsify official documents.
