RANAU: Three men were seriously injured when the delivery truck they were travelling in lost control and crashed into a tree near the district’s Information Department, Tuesday.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Station chief PPgB Rantey Fred said the incident occurred at 12.08pm and involved a 6-ton lorry.
“A call came through the station line, and a team of seven personnel led by Operations Commander PBK I Mastin Bin Suli was immediately dispatched,” he said.
Upon arrival at the scene, about 3km from the station, firefighters found the lorry had crashed into a tree, with one victim, the male driver, trapped in the wreckage.
“Two other male victims were rescued and sent to the hospital for further treatment. Firefighters used rescue tools to free the trapped driver, who was then handed over to the KKM ambulance team,” he added.
The operation concluded at 12.48pm.
Rantey urged motorists to drive carefully, particularly along narrow and winding village roads, especially during rainy weather or on damaged roads.
