Two lawyers made KKJA advisers

Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) appointed lawyers, Chin Teck Ming, and, Athanasius Chong, as its legal advisers.The aim was  to expand its legal adviser line-up and provide the KKJA with the most pragmatic legal opinions and consultations.

KKJA Executive Committee led by its Chairman Jimmy Goh recently handed over the letters of appointment and thanked Chin and Athanasius.
He said Chin’s support for the KKJA has helped a lot in the development of the association’s legal affairs. Jimmy also praised Chin’s spirit of serving the people, especially during the Movement Control Order by providing free legal aid to those in need.

Athanasius served in the Kota Kinabalu High Court from 2000 and in 2014,  set up his legal firm, Messrs Khian Chong & Partners.  His main business is transfer of property rights and court proceedings.

Jimmy said Athanasius’ appointment as KKJA legal advisor will further optimise the operation of the sssociation.

Also present were KKJA Secretary Teo Jinn Jiun, Treasurer Yvonne Ho and Liaison Officer Chu Pying Ting.
