Kota Kinabalu: The Mobile Community Service (MCS) programme carried out by the Treasury of Malaysia Sabah, Ministry of Finance, benefited 82,294 people last year.Sabah Federal Finance Officer, Alan Abdul Rahman, said throughout 2019, they achieved 17 series compared to 12 series targeted at providing Government services to rural communities in Sabah.
He said this after paying a courtesy call to Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at the Istana Negeri, here, Tuesday.
This was his first visit since his appointment on Nov 18, 2019. It was aimed at introducing himself to the Head of State and to seek advice from Juhar on the welfare and interest of the people of Sabah.
“Through the MCS programme, we are able to bring together a range of mobile services across various ministries, departments and agencies as well as the private sectors as a platform to enable Government assistance to be channelled directly to the target group,” he added.
“Activities throughout the programme are aimed at enhancing the unity and friendship of the community, government agencies and leaders.
“We therefore hope the people will be aware of the roles of government agencies set up to serve and assist the people with various needs,” he said.
He added that the ePerolehan register (eAcquisition registration), “Sanang Baitu” Workshop also provides the public with the opportunity to register a new Finance Ministry license and to get immediate certificate registration approval at the programme site.
“The first initiative in Malaysia was implemented by the Treasury of Malaysia Sabah which has benefited 164 applicants from all over Sabah in 2019,” he said.
According to Alan, for 2020, the programme will continue with a new image and mission for the prosperity of Sabahans with a target of 17 series of programmes in selected districts including Pulau Banggi on March 15.
