SIPITANG: A total of 21 participants learnt Durian Cultivation Course, gaining hands-on knowledge in durian planting techniques and agronomic management, while supporting local economic development.
Sipitang Member of Parliament Matbali Musah highlighted the importance of the course in enhancing community skills and knowledge in durian cultivation and broader agronomic practices.

“Courses like this are crucial as they provide practical knowledge to participants and expose them to modern agricultural practices, contributing to the district’s economic growth. Orchard owners, in particular, benefit from the wealth of information shared by instructors during the programme,” he said at the closing ceremony held at the Sipitang Community Skills Centre.
Matbali hoped that the programme would continue to receive strong support from the local community, ensuring that durian cultivation in the district thrives with the assistance of the District Office and relevant agencies.
Also in attendance were Sipitang District Officer Abd Karim A. M. Zahari, Petronas Liquefied Natural Gas 3 Health, Safety and Environment Manager Adiba Farhana Abu Bakar, Senior Agriculture Officer Arbaania Simbo, and Head of the Crop Agronomy Unit from Tuaran, Rosli Awang Said.
The programme was jointly organised by Petronas, the Sipitang District Office, and the Sipitang District Agriculture
Office.
