85 students to  showcase skills in competitions
Lorrendah said the competition plays a key role in preserving and reviving the language and indigenous cultural traditions through education.
PENAMPANG: The public is invited to witness the 2026 state-level Momohiis, Manangon, and Momoroisol Competition, held in conjunction with the Tadau Kaamatan, at the Hongkod Koisaan Penampang Hall this Saturday (tomorrow).

Momohiis features poetry recitation, Manangon showcases storytelling, and Momoroisol highlights students’ abilities in public speaking, critical thinking, and persuasive communication.

Deputy Chairman of the organising committee, Lorrendah Joseph, (pic) said the public would have the opportunity to witness the eloquence of storytelling and the talents of primary and secondary school students performing dances and songs in their mother tongues.

“This competition received an encouraging response from students across the state, as reflected in the number of schools participating,” she told Daily Express.
