LABUAN: The Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce proposed that Pulau Papan near here be considered for development as a casino resort under the Request For Proposal (RFP) by Labuan Corporation (LC) to “enliven” its idle assets and boost the local economy.
Its Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii said it would stir much interest among local and foreign investors and the project was also a sure way for good results as there was no casino resort in this area and fun gaming lovers had to travel afar.

He added that such entertainment would have rampant positive effects on the local economy, ending the search for answers for the island’s woes.
Wong said the casino project could be operated under strict rules barring Muslims, while the attached outdoor resort with family-friendly attractions, including delicious meals and a mall specialising in sale of up-market products.
