Landas Sarawak clinch TYT Trophy
The victorious Landas Sarawak team members with their trophy.
Kota Kinabalu: Landas Sarawak clinched the Head of State Trophy at the 11th FCAS Sabah International Dragon Boat Race held at Likas Bay on Sunday.

They crossed the finish line with a time of three minutes and 43.41 seconds to claim the top prize.

Following closely behind was the Lautan Biru DBT Tuaran Sabah Dragon Boat Team, completing the race in three minutes and 44.91 seconds with Asuk Hill DBT finishing in third place, clocking in at three minutes and 45.09 seconds.

The annual celebration hosted by The Federation of Chinese Association Sabah (FCAS) saw a big turnout, with 126 teams competing in a total of 10 categories.

The Sabah Chief Minister Trophy was won by Dragon Boat Labuk Beluran (03:35:59) followed by Gemilang Indah Gayang (03:37:97) and Pasukan Perahu Naga Kampung Layan (03:39:28).

The other top three winners in each of the categories were River Raptors ITCC, Royal Malaysia Police Paddlers RMP Paddlers, Team Maju Sulaiman (Sabah FCAS Dragon Trophy); KKCCCI, KK Hakka Dragon Boat Team, Persekutuan Persatuan-Persatuan Cina Tawau (FCAS Trophy-Chinese Mix Team); Persekutuan Persatuan-Persatuan Cina Tawau, KKCCCI, KK Hakka Dragon Boat Team (FCAS Trophy - Men’s Team); E &G Mix Junior DBT, Lentuong Junior Team Tuaran, Aura Samudera (Kinabalu Youth Trophy), River Raptors ITCC Penampang Team A, Royal Malaysia Police Paddlers RMP Paddlers, Athenians KK Hakka Dragon Boat Team (Kinabalu Dragon Trophy - open men’s teams); Karapaw, Royal Malaysia Police Paddlers RMP Paddlers, Rinukutz Dragon Boat Club (Kinabalu Dragon Phoenix Trophy - Malaysian women teams); Borneo Kayakers, PNK Sandakan Dragon Boat, Lela Cheteria Brunei Darussalam (Kinabalu Master Trophy - open men’s teams 45 above)

The event was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam representing the Head of State Tun Musa Aman.

Also present were president of The Federation of Chinese Association Sabah Tan Sri TC Goh and deputy president cum organising chairlady Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen as well as Chinese Consul General Zhu Xinglong , Mayor Dato’ Sri Sabin Samitah and Senator Datuk Ginger Phoong.
