Kuala Lumpur: A father has called for answers after alleging his newborn daughter was mistakenly swapped with another family’s baby boy at a hospital in the capital.
According to the New Straits Times, Muhammad Harraz Haziq, 24, lodged a police report on April 10 following the incident.
Harraz claimed his wife gave birth to a baby girl on April 7 before the infant was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit and later treated for jaundice.

He alleged a nurse took the baby for blood tests on the night of April 8 before the child was returned the next day and placed in an incubator.
The couple later claimed they discovered the baby returned to them was a boy, while Harraz alleged nurses initially questioned whether they were certain their child had been born female.
Harraz said they were reunited with their daughter on April 9 and described the incident as a “serious case of negligence”, while calling for a transparent explanation from the hospital management.
