BELURAN: A man believed to be in his 20s was found dead with severe facial injuries and a fractured nose and leg after the motorcycle he was riding was believed to have skidded on its own at Km85 Jalan Sapi Nangoh-Botition here on Sunday morning.

In the 9.45am incident, the unidentified victim was found unconscious by members of the public at the roadside before he was pronounced dead by a medical officer from the Nangoh Health Clinic.

District police chief Supt Hasan Majid said police received a report on the incident after a video of the accident went viral on social media.

He said initial investigations found the accident involved only the victim’s motorcycle, and the rider was believed to have lost control while travelling at high speed.

He said checks also found no identification documents on the victim, who was suspected to be a foreign national, while the body was sent to Beluran Hospital, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
