TAWAU: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man she knew after attending a wedding feast in Brumas, Tawau, late Sunday night.

Police reported that the suspect, a foreign plantation worker in his 20s, pulled her into his house, gagged her, and assaulted her.

The victim’s stepfather lodged a police report, leading to the suspect’s arrest within hours.

Authorities seized clothing and a mattress believed to be linked to the crime.

The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
