TENOM: A 19-year-old male student, Muhamad Alif Lukman Bujang from Keningau, was found dead floating in Sungai Padas near the Pangie Hydro Electric Dam area on Tuesday morning.

Tenom police said they received a report at 8.54am before officers were deployed to the scene, where the body was found near the riverbank and later sent to Tenom Hospital.

Initial checks found no signs of foul play or suspicious injuries. The cause of death is pending post-mortem at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu.

Police also confirmed the student had been reported missing from SMK Kemabong hostel on 10 May. A special investigation team has been formed to continue investigations.
