TAMPARULI: The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) recognition of the Tamparuli area for the Most Simultaneous Village Committee Elections proves that implementing Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) selections through an Election Commission-style (EC) voting system has received a positive response from the local community.

Rural Development Minister Datuk Rubin Balang said this method is seen as capable of increasing transparency while providing villagers with the confidence to choose their grassroots leadership.

“Furthermore, this system can reduce allegations of nepotism or appointments based on specific interests, as every candidate must undergo an open nomination and voting process.
