SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Water Department will temporarily close the access road to Bandar Prima for four days, from April 11 to 14, to facilitate main pipeline repair works.

The closure will involve the entrance junction to Bandar Prima and is scheduled to begin on Saturday, with works continuing until Tuesday.

Sandakan Water Department Engineer Ts Nelly Juee Phillip said the closure is necessary to allow repairs on a 1200-millimetre main pipeline located in the area.

“This repair is crucial to ensure the water supply system continues to function properly and to prevent more serious disruptions in the future,” she said in a statement on Thursday.

Members of the public, especially residents in Sandakan, are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes that will be made available throughout the closure period.

The department also requested cooperation and patience from road users during the repair works.
