KUNAK: The construction of a new community hall and sports complex here should be expedited as approvals have been obtained and the site is ready, said Kunak assemblyman Datuk Seri Anil Sandhu.
He said the proposed community hall site is located near the Kunak District Council office and is intended to serve as a multipurpose facility and one-stop centre for community and government programmes.
Anil said he had raised the matter with the Chief Minister to accelerate implementation, noting that both the community hall and sports complex projects had already received approval.
On the sports complex, he said discussions have been held with relevant agencies including the District Office, Lands and Surveys Department and SD Guthrie, with land status conversion still required before development can proceed.
He also urged that the new Kunak branch library, completed seven months ago, be opened without further delay, adding he will meet Public Works Department engineers to seek clarification on the matter.
