SANDAKAN: Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS) secured second place at the Anugerah Inovasi Mayor DBKK 2025 in Kota Kinabalu recently with their project “Fibrebites Cookies”.
The team, comprising Andikah Nurhayat Razanali, Cybrian Cyril Ireneus, Crissy Yaduin and Grace Ang Suh Yie, received RM3,500, a trophy and a certificate.

The project began as a classroom experiment before developing into an award-winning innovation. The students said their aim was not just to create cookies, but to develop a healthy snack that addresses the growing demand for nutritious yet accessible food.
With guidance from mentor Ts. Nurul Safeza Abdul Hajis, the team worked through challenges such as ingredient sourcing, product development and food safety compliance.
