KOTA KINABALU: The KKN24 Social League 2026 has been introduced as a new initiative focused on youth development through sports, particularly football, in the N.24 Tanjung Keramat constituency.
State Assemblyman Shah Alfie Yahya said the league is not merely about competition or monetary rewards, but serves as an important platform to strengthen community ties among local residents.
He said the main objective is to unite youth, foster teamwork and promote a healthy lifestyle within the community.
Shah Alfie stressed that winning is only a bonus, with the true value of the league lying in the unity and camaraderie built throughout the tournament.
The four-month competition will feature eight teams where the champions will receive a trophy and medals, while the runners-up and third-placed teams will each be awarded medals.
At the same time, Shah Alfie, a young elected representative, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting more youth-focused programmes in the future, in line with efforts to nurture an active, disciplined and competitive generation.
He added that the encouraging response to the inaugural edition signals strong potential for the league to be continued as an annual community platform.
