New Satta chairman for 2026-28

Kota Kinabalu: Justin Chong of Chong Fui Travel has been elected the new chairman of the Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta) for the 2026–2028 term.

He garnered 19 votes to defeat incumbent Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw, who secured 10 votes, during the association’s annual general meeting attended by 29 members at a hotel here.

The new team includes Augustine Tay as vice-chairman, Samantha Liaw as treasurer, Lisa Chong as secretary and Alvin Quek as vice-secretary.

Committee members are Shim Vun Ming, Sylvia Joanne, Tatianna Chiang, Datin Azlena Poniman, Teo Chee Kim and Tan Chee Hwa.

Justin said Satta would also work closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (Motac) and Tourism Malaysia to support and promote initiatives under Visit Malaysia Year 2026, further enhancing Sabah and Malaysia’s presence in the international tourism market.

“With the continued support of our members and the dedication of the new team, Satta will strive to play a significant role in advancing the tourism industry and achieving new milestones for Visit Malaysia Year 2026,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to members for their confidence and support.

“Together, let us move forward and create an even brighter future for the tourism industry,” he added.
