Bersatu Beluran division quits, blames Muhy
The division’s committee members.
Kota Kinabalu: Beluran Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Division Secretary Hamdan Tarawie said the division’s entire committee has resigned from the party due to loss of confidence in the party president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Hamdan raised concerns that the party has moved away from its original commitment to the interests of Sabah Bumiputera.

He said all division committee members announced their immediate resignations from all party posts and membership, adding that the decision was made with a heavy heart after careful consideration.

“We observed a shift in the party’s priorities, with decisions increasingly appearing to centre on elevating the president’s personal political standing rather than on the broader welfare of the communities the party was founded to serve.

“The culture of differing views is no longer celebrated, but is instead seen as a threat to the leadership’s position,” he said.

The committee is also concerned over recent disciplinary proceedings involving several senior party figures, including Deputy President Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Dr Ronald Kiandee and Datuk Wira Mas Ermieyati, suggesting the actions risked undermining confidence in the impartiality of the party’s internal processes.

Hamdan said the resignation was not a decision the committee had taken lightly.

“This decision is not an easy one, but it is taken in defence of the principles of struggle and political dignity that we have upheld all this time,” he said.

“We believe the struggle for the people, especially Sabah Bumiputera, must continue on a foundation that is more honest, principled and free from the personal interests of any individual.”

The committee said it remained particularly concerned that issues affecting Sabah Bumiputera communities, historically central to the party’s presence in the state, had not been receiving the attention they warranted.
