KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Julita Majungki, PBS secretary-general and Matunggong assemblywoman, backed the Sabah government’s move to oppose the federal government’s bid to stay a High Court ruling on the state’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement.
Julita said the move is necessary to safeguard Sabah’s constitutional rights and ensure the consultation process ordered by the court proceeds.
She said the issue is vital to strengthening Sabah’s fiscal capacity and improving development and public services for the people.
Sabah is opposing the federal government’s application to stay the High Court order issued on Oct 17, 2025 regarding the state’s entitlement to 40 per cent of net federal revenue collected from Sabah between 1974 and 2021, often referred to as the “Lost Years”.
State Attorney-General Brenndon Keith Soh said the court had directed both governments to undertake consultations to implement the special grant within 180 days ending April 15, 2026.
