Kota Kinabalu: The Zoomies for Paws: JPH-PKK & SPCA 6KM Charity Fun Run 2026 is set to take place on April 18, 2026, at Politeknik Kota Kinabalu.
Organisers are aiming to gather 500 runners to support the SPCA Kota Kinabalu’s animal welfare efforts.
The event, which is a hybrid run, allows participants to join either on-site or virtually from anywhere, making it accessible to a wider community. The primary goal of this charity fun run is to raise funds for SPCA Kota Kinabalu, helping provide food, medical treatment, neutering, and shelter for rescued animals in need.
A portion of the registration fee – RM10 from every participant – will be directly donated to the SPCA Kota Kinabalu Animal Welfare Fund.
The funds raised will go towards supporting the daily operations of the animal shelter, ensuring that animals receive the care and attention they deserve.
Organizing students from JPH-PKK, who have teamed up with SPCA for this cause, have set an ambitious challenge: 500 runners for a cause.
The aim is not just to raise funds but to also increase awareness about the importance of animal welfare in the region.
“Every registration counts. Not only do participants get the chance to engage in a fun and meaningful activity, but they also contribute directly to helping rescue and care for animals in need,” said one of the event organizers.
How to Participate:
Participants are encouraged to invite friends, family, colleagues, and even running groups to join the event.
“Every step helps save a paw,” the organisers emphasised, adding that the more runners who sign up, the more support SPCA will receive for its animal care programmes.
Whether you’re running for fitness, fun, or a noble cause, this charity run offers an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable animals.
The event promises to be a heartwarming, community-driven initiative, and it’s the perfect way to make a lasting impact.
