KOTA KINABALU: A son watched in horror as his father was killed after being struck by a lorry making a U-turn near Metro Town in Kolombong on Tuesday night.
The 56-year-old victim, a Filipino national, was riding a motorcycle separately from his son when the crash occurred at 8pm.

Both were returning home to Penampang after working on a house project in Kota Belud.
The lorry involved fled the scene towards the Lintas area immediately after the collision. However, witnesses are believed to have captured the vehicle’s registration number.
Police are investigating the case, with Investigating Officer See Hong Ling and SM Morni reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the surrounding area to trace the suspect vehicle.
Authorities urge anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
