Sabah to oppose Federal bid to stay 40pc revenue order
Kota Kinabalu: The State Government will oppose the Federal Government’s application for a stay of the High Court order relating to the State’s 40 per cent share of net federal revenue for the period 1974 to 2021, known as the “Lost Years”.

State Attorney-General Datuk Brenndon Keith Soh (pic) said the High Court order dated Oct 17, 2025 directed the Federal Government to conduct a review with the State Government and reach an agreement within 180 days, by April 15, 2026.

He said the State Government has remained committed to complying with the decision and has participated in meetings and technical discussions with federal authorities to exchange information and determine the quantum of the special grant.

Brenndon said the State had acted constructively and in good faith and rejected any suggestion that it had delayed or failed to cooperate in implementing the High Court order.
