14-year-old faces court over Batu 8 market incident
SANDAKAN: A 14-year-old boy was charged in the Court for Children here Thursday with voluntarily causing hurt to a Sandakan Municipal Council enforcement officer to deter him from carrying out his duties.

However, no plea was recorded when the boy appeared before Magistrate Nur Faezah Jafry to face the charge under Section 332 of the Penal Code.

The offence allegedly occurred at the Batu 8 Market area on March 6.

The court fixed April 24 for mention pending reports on the victim’s injuries and the boy’s social report from the Welfare Department, with Deputy Public Prosecutor Ong Teik Yi appearing for the prosecution.
