Kota Kinabalu: A former director of the Sabah National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) was charged in the Sessions Court here Thursday with six counts of using fake documents to obtain payments totalling RM19,440 for AADK programmes in Tawau and Kunak.
Bakri Bibi, 53, pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus to all the charges.
He is accused of using a fake document — a direct purchase invitation for price quotations under the name Syarikat Yazied Photostate Centre — to obtain payments for food and beverage services and programme supplies between Aug 13, 2018 and April 16, 2019.
The payments involved several programmes including Community Activation, Khidmat Masyarakat, Drug Awareness and Skuad AADK Tawau Hiking Bukit Lim Man Kui, as well as a community gotong-royong in Tawau.
The offences under Section 471 read together with Section 468 of the Penal Code carry a jail term of up to seven years and a fine upon conviction, with the court allowing Bakri to remain on previous bail and fixing April 27 for pre-trial case management.
