PAPAR: Kinarut UNHCR residents said they are unfairly blamed for illegal dumping of rubbish along Jalan Pengalat Lok Kawi fronting their settlement.

“We have been paying for our own waste collection service since last year but rubbish continue being dumped along the main route,” its Community Head, Herma Fahma, told Daily Express.

“We cannot accept being accused without proper investigation,” Herman said, referring to a social media post that went viral.

“Our community-initiated waste collection service operates twice weekly, with residents paying RM20 per household monthly to cover transportation costs to the Kampung Langkawit Kimanis landfill and disposal fees to Majlis Daerah Papar.
