KOTA KINABALU: National Muaythai athlete Angie Yan Jia Chi has received RM92,000 in cash incentives under the Sports Victory Prize Scheme (Shakam), according to a recent
Facebook post by the Malaysian Muaythai Federation (PMM).
PMM said Angie, a Wai Kru specialist and reigning world champion in the discipline, was recognised as the most outstanding Muaythai athlete for 2025.

The federation also thanked the National Sports Council for approving Shakam incentives for Muaythai athletes after years of applications by PMM.
Angie, born in Johor to a Sabahan mother and a Johorean father, earned RM42,000 for gold at the 2025 Ifma Muaythai World Championships in Turkey, RM30,000 for gold at the 2025 Ifma Muaythai Asian Championships in Vietnam, and RM20,000 for gold at the 2025 Sea Games in Thailand.
PMM noted that Angie, like other top athletes, underwent disciplined and intensive training to secure gold medals for the country.
