Head of State Tun Musa Aman witnessed the presentation made by THP Sabaco Sdn Bhd Board Member Kasmuri Sukardi, representing the subsidiary of TH Plantations Sdn Bhd, to Sabah State Mufti Datuk Bongsu Aziz Jaafar, on behalf of Muis.
At the same ceremony, Muis also presented a business zakat wakalah amounting to RM127,980 to THP Sabaco to be distributed to eligible recipients (asnaf) among the company’s 1,075 employees.
Meanwhile, Kasmuri said THP Sabaco is currently actively implementing community education through the Celik Al-Quran Programme for its plantation workers across Sabah as part of its commitment to human capital development.
He said through the 30-hour programme, participants are confident of mastering the basics of Al-Quran reading and writing upon completion of the training.
“We implemented this programme starting in Lahad Datu and it now involves all THP Sabaco plantations. God willing, after participating in this 30-hour programme, they will be able to write and read the Al-Quran.
“To ensure the success of the programme, we have received support from the Al-Quran Studies Institute Foundation (Y-IPaQ), the Sabah State Mufti’s Office and Muis,” he said after a courtesy call on Musa at Istana Seri Kinabalu here Monday.
Also present were TH Plantations CEO Datuk Ts Borhan Bachi; Muis Secretary Datuk Ramlan Awang Ali; and THP Sabaco Sdn Bhd Board Member Irwan Ayub.
