TAWAU: The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has called for greater youth participation as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots machinery in Tawau, signalling an upcoming restructuring of its local division to enhance efficiency and community outreach.
LDP President Datuk Chin Su Phin said the party leadership will soon undertake a reorganisation of the Tawau division to inject new energy and fresh ideas, aimed at improving service delivery and consolidating its organisational foundation.

He noted that many young individuals in Tawau, including professionals, have expressed interest in joining the party, reflecting growing support among the younger generation.
“We welcome more capable and aspiring young people to join LDP and contribute their services to the community. The future of the party depends on the active participation of our youth,” he said.
Chin was speaking at a Chinese New Year gathering dinner in Tawau, which was also attended by LDP Deputy President Datuk Yong Wui Chung, Sabah Nominated State Assemblyman and LDP Secretary-General Datuk Chin Shu Ying, as well as members of the party’s Supreme Council.
During the event, the party leadership met with division chairmen and members from Balung, Sri Tanjung and Merotai to exchange views on grassroots developments and local community issues.
Chin said the gathering served not only as a festive celebration but also as a platform to strengthen unity within the party and reinforce its grassroots network.
He thanked the Tawau divisions for their continued commitment to community service.
Reaffirming that serving the people remains the party’s core mission, Chin expressed confidence that with unity among its leaders and members, LDP would continue to strengthen its presence in Tawau and effectively represent public interests.
