Damaged road, water cuts linger at Sandakan township
Calvin urged the Government and all agencies involved to issue an official explanation on which party is responsible, and to present a clear action plan and implementation timeline to the public.
SANDAKAN: Residents and businesses in Bandar Prima have been grappling with repeated water supply disruptions and a damaged road for close to a year — and still no permanent fix is in sight.

Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong said since 2025, no thorough repairs have been carried out to repair the damage, which has continued to disrupt the sole entry road into the township.

He said the problem not only affected the stability of the water supply but also impacted the daily lives of residents, business operations and local economic activities.

“The prolonged disruption has raised public concerns due to the absence of clear information on a long-term solution,” he said in a statement, Saturday.

Calvin pointed to the complexity of the situation, noting that underground infrastructure including water pipes, electrical cables, telecommunications lines, sewerage systems and fibre optic networks overlap without effective coordination between the relevant agencies.
