LAHAD DATU: The Lahad Datu Chinese Chamber of Commerce in response to the district hospital’s urgent needs donated a blood bank refrigerator to the emergency room to prevent the loss of lives on Wednesday.
The Chamber’s President, Tan Cheng Teng said the German made blood bank refrigerator can accommodate at least ten bags of blood for the use of emergency room only in emergencies cases such as accidental injuries and postpartum haemorrhage to prevent the loss of precious lives,
Tan, who is also a member of the Hospital’s Monitory Board, said he felt obligated to provide assistance upon learning of the hospital’s urgent need for the blood bank refrigerator.
“After receiving green light from the Chamber’s Executive Committee during a meeting, a fundraising campaign within the Chamber immediately activated and was well received by the Chamber’s members, the required funds were raised within a few days and we subsequently placed the order from Germany for the equipment,” he said.
