PAITAN: Four Starlink satellite units have been handed over to help restore communication links in areas badly affected by recent flooding, with State Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk James Ratib making the handover here.
The units were provided by SabahNet Sdn Bhd, an agency under the Ministry, as an immediate measure to re-establish connectivity in affected areas and support ongoing disaster management and post-flood recovery operations.
They were received by Paitan District Officer Joloning Joe Majambu, who will coordinate their deployment to identified locations in urgent need of internet access.
SabahNet said the initiative is aimed at facilitating aid coordination, information dissemination, and the overall relief effort in the wake of the floods.
It is hoped that the provision of satellite connectivity will accelerate the recovery process and ensure the welfare and well-being of affected residents remain a priority.
