Kota Kinabalu: Tomorrow’s (Sunday) Fortune Bowl race lines up eight majestic thoroughbreds to usher in the auspicious Year of the Horse.
Scheduled for Race 3 (Rating 66-128) over 1,400m sand track, Kinabalu Warrior is the favourite hunting for a fifth consecutive win. David’s Sling and Lord Justice are worthy challengers.

Blue Chip’s recent form resurgence has attracted attention with minor placing well within reach. Leggenda has fine credentials to follow up on his last two wins with a proper run.
As curtain raiser to Fortune Bowl Cup race, Persatuan Penduduk Rumah Murah Kepayan Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe will put up an awesome Lion and Dragon dance display at 2.30pm.
This is also a customary “must watch” event attracting hundreds of fans annually. In addition to this year’s celebrations is the grand lucky draw with up to RM5,000 to be won.

Blarney Blink has a minor say in this race. It will be interesting to gauge how newly-promoted Biduan and Seabiscuit fare against battle-hardened warriors.
Hong Kong racing this Sunday could be a day of epic proportions.
Slated to run Race 8 (Group 1) over 1,400m, Ka Ying Rising is poised to record his 18th consecutive victories. Ka Ying Rising, invincible the last two seasons and this campaign, will beat a 21-year-old standing record of 17 wins by the great Silent Witness.
Supporting actors in this race are Helios Express, Red Lion, Galaxy Patch and Lucky Sweynesse.
Today (Saturday) sees plenty of Group race actions at Rosehill track, Australia.
Race 6 (Group 2) over 1,100m has two-year old juveniles competing to further develop speed, stamina and authority. This race will be hard to call with all but one horse having no more than 2 runs at this stage of their careers.
Shiki, the “veteran” with four runs is tipped. Closely behind will be Hidrix, Savage Look and Incognito.
Race 8 (Group 2) showcases 10 three-year-olds (still relatively youthful) competing for the total prize money of AUD$400,000.
Fresh and ready after 19 weeks’ break, Autumn Boy should find Group 2 competition easier.
Rising up the ranks, Ninja is in with a winning chance as well. Napoleonic’s form is hard to fault while Wodeton is prepared strong and fit and can make his presence felt.
Hong Kong, Australia, Selangor and Perak races are “telecast” live by Royal Sabah Turf Club (RSTC) at its Tambalang racetrack and Kota Kinabalu (Tanjung Aru), Sandakan and Keningau centres.
