Kota Kinabalu: Datuk Ram Singh has retained his position as Kota Kinabalu District Archery Association’s (KKDAA) president for the fifth term during its 10th Annual General Meeting held at the Likas Archery Range on Feb 28.
Most committee members also kept their respective roles. The leadership structure includes Hajjah Kartini Kamis as Deputy President, Clarence Jews as Vice President, Shiu Vay Leung as Secretary General and Stephanie Chin Wei Ling as Treasurer.

The newly elected committee members are Ruby Tsen Swee Sen and Natalie Chow, joining Eugenius Lo Foh Soon, Elaine Van Shuk Lei, Chaw Ken Wee, Tony Quik Boon Seong and Fredoline Modius.
Appointed Internal Auditors are Rebecca Chiew Hua Sze and Veronica Wong Vui Li, while Paul Leong and Sunny Tan remained as advisors.
In his address, Ram expressed gratitude toward all members, parents, coaches and athletes for their continued support, unity and cooperation throughout 2025.
As he is also the Sabah State Archery Association’s president, he emphasised the importance of collaboration with various bodies such as the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy Sabah, and other affiliated organisations.
He said the focus moving forward includes leveraging funds allocated by the Sports Ministry to enhance the sport of archery across the State.
He also congratulated all State archers on their achievements last year in the State and national level archery tournaments such as Sabah Open, National circuit, Para circuit, Sabah School Sports Council and Malaysia School Sports Council meets.
He encouraged them to continue winning medals in future contests and stressed the significance of adhering to safety protocols during practice and competition, as well as staying away from drugs and illegal activities to safeguard their futures in sports.
Meanwhile, Kartini, who is also the State body’s secretary, said the year 2026 will present both busy and challenging times for the association.
With the upcoming Sukma 2026 scheduled to take place in Selangor during August 2026, preparations are already in full swing.
In addition, Kota Kinabalu will also be hosting the National Circuit event in July and she called for unity and collaboration among all district archery associations to ensure the success of the tournament.
