Kota Kinabalu: PTTEP Malaysia, a business unit of Thailand’s national oil and gas company PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), recently extended back-to-school assistance and educational outreach to 170 Sabah students under its We Care Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The initiative, now in its fifth year of collaboration with the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA), continues to expand its reach in uplifting communities through education, learning opportunities, and meaningful engagement.
In Sabah, the beneficiaries came from SK Pahu, Kiulu; SK Lok Yuk, Inanam; SK Kipovo, Penampang; SK Kebayau, Telipok; and SK Pekan, Tamparuli. Each student received essential school supplies to support their learning.
Overall, PTTEP Malaysia has allocated RM432,000 to benefit more than 1,500 students from 13 schools across Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
Apart from school supplies, the contribution also includes digital tools and learning resources to create a more conducive educational environment.
The programme was carried out in close collaboration with government-linked agencies and partners, offering students opportunities to participate in fun and educational activities focused on health, safety, character development, and environmental awareness.
“The We Care programme reflects our continued focus on education and community empowerment in the areas where we operate.
“Together with MRA and our other stakeholders, we will continue to expand our efforts and engage communities through programmes that create value and support learning, while fostering a spirit of togetherness,” said PTTEP Malaysia Country Manager Vitoon Chaisomboonpan.
In Sabah, PTTEP operates through PTTEP Sabah Oil Limited, with an administrative office in Kota Kinabalu and a supply base in Labuan.
The company continues to explore investment opportunities in Sabah’s offshore oil and gas sector, in line with its assessment of the state’s energy resource potential.
