KOTA KINABALU: Lampoopalooza returned for its fourth edition over the weekend, drawing crowds to Gaya Street in the Central Business District with vibrant lights and creative displays.
The event was launched on Saturday by Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin, who said the festival continues to serve as a platform for innovation, artistic expression and community participation in the city centre.

A projection mapping showcase illuminated the historic Sabah Tourism Board (STB) building and neighbouring structures, transforming the facades into a display of light and motion throughout the evening.
Live performances by local artistes Isobahtos, Eylia Guntabid, Ryenald Guntabid, Masmona and DJ Tony Starr added to the atmosphere as visitors gathered along the street.
Jafry said city-based events such as Lampoopalooza complement Sabah’s nature and culture-driven attractions while contributing towards Visit Sabah 2027, and noted the initiative is organised under Sabah Tourism Board’s corporate social responsibility with sustainable decorations that will later be donated to the community.
Present were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister and STB chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Tourism, Culture, and Environment Ministry’s Deputy Permanent Secretaries Mary Malangking and Datin Cleopatra Asing, and STB chief executive officer Julinus Jeffery Jimit.
