BEAUFORT: Residents are calling on Lumadan Assemblyman and Sabah Assistant Minister of Fisheries and Food Industry Datuk Ruslan Muharam and Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah to fulfil a six-year-old pledge to build trading stalls in Kampung Padas Damit.
A resident, Jedih Jurin, told the Daily Express on Tuesday that both leaders had made the promise during the last state election.
He said traders at the weekly tamu, which operates on Tuesdays until evening, are affected by leaking roofs, especially during the rainy season, causing their goods to get wet.
“Six years have passed but the stalls have yet to be rebuilt, forcing traders to continue operating from dilapidated structures,” he said.
