KOTA KINABALU: A 33-year-old man pleaded guilty in the High Court here on Monday to murdering his former girlfriend at a shopping centre three years ago.
Chung King Fung @ Haider Daniel Chung Abdullah admitted to killing Nurul Ain Silien, 21, between 12 noon and 12.20pm on May 29, 2023, at a shop in Jesselton Mall here.

High Court Judge Datuk Alexander Siew How Wai deferred sentencing to Friday, Feb 13.
The court convicted Chung after he confirmed the facts and exhibits and the judge was satisfied that he understood the nature and consequences of his guilty plea.
Chung was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for the death penalty or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years with whipping, and he had previously claimed trial on Jan 15, 2025.
