TAWAU: Police have arrested three men suspected of involvement in an armed rioting and criminal intimidation case linked to an incident reported at a premises along Jalan Chong Thien Vun here on Saturday.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin confirmed that all the suspects are local men detained to assist investigations following a report lodged by a 29-year-old salesman.

The complainant alleged that he was approached by a man known to him and two unidentified men while inside a shop at about 9.20pm before being assaulted with an iron rod, resulting in shoulder injuries and prompting him to file a police report.
Following the complaint, police arrested the first suspect, aged 25, at the roadside of Lorong Perdana Jaya 5, Batu 3 Jalan Apas, and seized an iron rod measuring about 87 centimetres and a cutter knife estimated at 21 centimetres in length.
Subsequent arrests involved a 34-year-old trader detained at about 1.45pm on Sunday at the district police headquarters and a 36-year-old trader arrested at about 2.20pm at an unnumbered house in Kampung Sharmizan, with police also seizing a 53-centimetre rattan cane, and the case is being investigated under Sections 148 and 506 of the Penal Code.
