KOTA KINABALU: A girl was killed, and five others were injured after a Toyota Hilux skidded off the road into a roadside drain near Dewan Hakka along Jalan Signal Hill Park here on Sunday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call at 10.52pm and arrived at the scene at 10.59pm, about seven kilometres from the station, with the operation ending at 11.32pm.

The injured victims were taken to the hospital by Health Ministry ambulances and the Fire and Rescue Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit.

The deceased was handed over to the police for further action after firefighters confirmed there were no further hazards.
