KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Mustapha Sakmud has welcomed public town halls on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), saying open engagement is healthy despite differing views and expressing hope stakeholders can find common ground.
He was met at the PKR Kota Kinabalu division Chinese New Year celebrations hosted by its Chief, and Nominated Assemblywoman, Grace Lee Li Mei at the headquarters here on Sunday.

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) said he recently met Sabah Law Society leaders, including past president Datuk Roger Chin, and described the discussion as constructive.
He said 13 MA63 matters have been resolved, 16 remain under negotiation, and one has been settled on an interim basis through a RM600 million special grant to Sabah and Sarawak.
He said a technical committee will meet this month before updates are brought to the main council chaired by the Prime Minister.
Mustapha added that the new MA63 dashboard has drawn strong public interest, recording over 2,000 views within its first three days, with further updates to be posted for transparency.
