Servay Evergreen operates over 80 branches across East Malaysia, including hypermarkets and supermarkets under the Servay and Servay Express brands.
The Kota Kinabalu-based company, which began operations more than 35 years ago with its first supermarket in Miri, has since diversified into transportation, hotels and property development.
The vehicles were supplied by WMM Ventures Sdn Bhd, an Isuzu dealer in East Malaysia.
Servay Evergreen Sdn Bhd Manager, Michael Lai, said the company selected the NPR85UKL model based on positive experience with existing Isuzu vehicles in its fleet.
“Our company has been using other Isuzu NPR models as well as the medium-duty Forward model for several years now and the vehicles are all still performing very satisfactorily,” Lai said.
He cited reliability, competitive pricing and after-sales service as key factors in the decision.
The new trucks will transport goods to Servay outlets throughout Sabah. According to Lai, the company is satisfied with the vehicle’s performance under full permissible loads and expects minimal disruption to delivery schedules.
“We have plans to purchase more units of this model as well as Isuzu’s medium-duty trucks as we anticipate future growth,” he added.
WMM Ventures Sdn Bhd Sales Manager Timothy Chin said the NPR85UKL model can reduce fuel consumption and costs by an average of 20 percent, depending on load capacity, driving habits and maintenance.
The truck’s engine produces maximum torque of 354Nm at 1,500rpm. It features Diesel Oxidation Catalyst technology to reduce carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and particulate matter emissions.
Safety features include SRS airbag with pretension seatbelts, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), and LED headlights.
Isuzu Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Tomoyuki Yamaguchi said the company was pleased to support Servay Evergreen’s transportation requirements.
“The truck raises the bar in fuel management with its powerful engine and a host of other practical upgrades that our customers can fully leverage for their business efficiency and adaptability,” Yamaguchi said.
