KOTA KINABALU: A 35-year-old man and his 32-year-old friend pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court to charges linked to an alleged sexual assault involving the man’s wife in Tuaran.
The husband is accused of abetting his friend in committing the offence against the 38-year-old woman at their home on Jan 23 at 5.45am.

He was charged under Section 109 read together with Section 377CA of the Penal Code, which carries a prison term of five to 30 years and a fine upon conviction.
His friend was separately charged with inserting his finger into the woman’s private part at the same place and time.
Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan set March 4 for pre-trial case management and denied bail after the prosecution argued both men could interfere with witnesses, noting the alleged victim lives with her husband and the co-accused resides nearby.
Both men told the court they wanted bail and denied wrongdoing. The judge advised them to appoint lawyers for the proceedings.
