KUDAT: The principal of SMK Sikuati, Kudat, passed away following an accident on Wednesday (Jan 28) evening.
Prior to the 5.30pm mishap, the victim, identified as Ahmad Mehdunah, 60, was said to have been driving from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat when he was believed to have lost control of the vehicle along Km 18, Jalan Kudat.

Kudat District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said according to initial information, the victim was seen to swerve to the side of the road before falling into a drain and crashing into an electric pole near the RTM Sikuati junction.
“Witnesses on site who went to check on the victim found that he was unconscious with no visible injuries on him,” he said.
He said an emergency call was received at around 5.50pm and responders arrived at the scene not long afterwards.
“Medical officials brought the victim’s body to the Kudat Hospital for further action and to find out the cause of death,” said Mohd Haris.
