LAHAD DATU: A non-permanent house was destroyed in a fire at Kampung Silam Pengkalan here after the Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 8.40am on Monday.
The Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station dispatched a fire engine that arrived at the scene at 8.55am after travelling about 23km.

Operations commander reported that the house was already 100 per cent destroyed upon the firefighters’ arrival, and the blaze was brought under control at 9.07am using one hose line from a fire rescue tender.
The operation ended at 9.28am after thorough checks confirmed no further hazards, with no injuries or loss of life reported and a total of 15 personnel, including one officer, involved.
