SIPITANG: A landslide damaged the kitchen of a house in Kampung PnP Baru, here, on Frtiday afternoon, prompting firefighters to advise the occupants to vacate the premises as a safety precaution.

The Fire and Rescue Department said it received a call at 4.17pm and found the kitchen structure measuring about 30 by 40 feet affected, with four adults — two men and two women — confirmed safe and no rescue operation required.

Firefighters, assisted by police, the Civil Defence Force and Sabah Electricity, monitored the situation before ending operations at 7.05pm, with Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah and district officials also present at the scene.
