PAPAR: Foul smell lingering at a condominium here led to the discovery of a body of a man on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old victim was found at 10.30pm in the living room of a home – believed to be the victim’s - by Fire and Rescue Department personnel.
District Police Chief Supt Heryan Mohd Tahir said a report was made by residents following a persistent stench from one of the houses.
He said police along with the Fire and Rescue Department conducted an operation to inspect a locked house where the body was found.
“Initial investigation shows no evidence of any criminal elements. All personal belongings of the victim were found in his home,” he said.
Heryan said the body was sent to Papar Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death and that the case has been classified as sudden death.
“However, investigations are ongoing,” he said, urging those with information to contact Papar police station or any police station nearby to facilitate the investigation.
