“Cuepacs needs a bold paradigm shift with inclusive changes, including giving Sabah and Sarawak union leaders’ opportunities to helm the national leadership,” he said in a statement, here, Sunday.
“That is why I have accepted the nomination to champion democratic practices within the organisation,” he said.
Beyond his KGKS presidency, Murkam serves as the Joint Council of Sabah Departments Co-Chairman, State Education Coalition Chairman and Sabah Cuepacs Deputy Chairman.
He has consistently championed teacher welfare in Sabah, including fighting against the controversial Regional Housing Allowance reinterpretation that has saddled many State educators with retroactive debt repayments.
