Kota Kinabalu: Sabah DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) Chief Chan Loong Wei
(pic) urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the unity government to remain committed to their reform agenda and avoid actions that could undermine public confidence.
Chan expressed support for DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke’s proposal for the Cabinet to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate the alleged “corporate mafia” controversy, saying an independent and transparent inquiry was needed to establish the facts and restore institutional credibility.

He also voiced solidarity with former Damansara MP Tony Pua, noting that concerns over a police investigation under Section 124B of the Penal Code have raised fears of potential political intimidation and abuse of power.
Chan said Pua had previously been investigated under the same provision and barred from leaving the country during his pursuit of the 1MDB scandal, adding that similar developments could create concerns about selective enforcement and a chilling effect on legitimate scrutiny.
He also noted that several DAP MP, including Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong and Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh, have raised concerns over the MACC leadership controversy and urged the government to address public concerns, including calls to replace the MACC Chief Commissioner.
